I was able to fish this rod/reel combo in the Missouri Headwaters, Gallatin, Madison, and Yellowstone Rivers through the New Year. Amazing experience, handled the cold well. While packing the wagon for the journey home I lost the reel off the back of my truck. Very disappointing loss but things happen when you try to push the boundaries of what's possible. It was 1 Deg F and I just lost focus on my stuff and never noticed the reel was gone until I got home.

Classic aesthetic, excellent functionality and I love that you can easily palm the spool on the Marquis. When a steelhead lights this thing up it sounds AWESOME.

I purchased the salmon 1 for my go to steelhead reel. The modern styling is beautiful. The drag knob is larger now and has easy accessibility when I need to reach for it quickly. It’s still a palming reel but nice to have a little extra drag when I need it.
