HARDY TACTUS SERIES

The Next Generation of Light-Line Performance

Eight advanced rods designed for technical fishing with light lines and long leaders, delivering exceptional feel, control, and versatility across a wide range of presentations.

Light-Line Performance for Every Application

Built on Hardy’s advanced SINTRIX FLT technology and precision tapers developed by Howard Croston, the Tactus Series is a highly advanced family of eight rods created for technical fishing with light lines and long leaders.

While highly capable in modern tight-line nymphing, Tactus extends far beyond a single technique, bringing exceptional feel, recovery and control to dry-fly, wet-fly, dry-dropper and light-indicator presentations. Exceptionally light yet impressively capable, the series combines specialised performance with the versatility to adapt across a wide range of demanding light-line applications.

Specialised, Yet Versatile

The eight-model Tactus Series is organised into Dry Fly and Nymphing families, reflecting each rod’s primary design intent— but not limiting its possibilities. This range covers delicate dries, dry-dropper rigs, wet fly swinging, light-indicator nymphing, and tight-line techniques. Each model brings its own strengths, while retaining the versatility to adapt across changing water, flies and presentations.

Two Tips. More Control.

Each Tactus Nymphing rod includes two interchangeable tips, allowing you to adapt to different rigs and presentations. The solid carbon tip loads under minimal weight, providing exceptional sensitivity and control with light nymphs, mono rigs, and fine leaders. The traditional tubular tip offers greater support for heavier, multi-fly rigs and use with a conventional fly-line. Together, they create a versatile nymphing system without compromising specialised performance.

Technical Presentation, Expanded

Tactus Dry Fly rods are built for precise presentations with light lines and long leaders. Their extended lengths provide the reach, control and recovery needed for technical methods such as Spanish-style folded-leader dry-fly fishing, while retaining the versatility to handle dry-dropper rigs, light yarn indicators and swung wet flies. Delicate when presentation demands it, yet capable across a wide range of techniques, they are far more than specialist dry-fly rods.

Precision, Engineered

Tactus uses Hardy’s advanced nano-silica resin system, Sintrix FLT, to reinforce the matrix surrounding the carbon fibres, and improve resistance to compressive forces. This allows Tactus blanks to achieve exceptional strength at remarkably low weight, with the stability and rapid recovery required for technical presentations. That reduction in weight translates directly to greater feel, accuracy, and control. Combined with precision tapers, titanium guides, and custom lightweight reel seats, Sintrix FLT helps make Tactus Hardy’s most advanced light-line rod series.

Precision Tools for Technical Fishing

Tactus combines advanced materials, refined tapers, and purpose-driven design to meet the demands of technical light-line fishing. Eight highly capable rods provide the reach, sensitivity, and control to master a broad range of specialised presentations.
