Streamer fishing has long had specialised rods, lines, and flies, yet reels have been largely ignored. The new Hardy Averon Streamer, developed with Kelly Galloup, is the first fly reel designed specifically for streamer fishing.
At its heart is a free-spinning incoming retrieve that allows anglers to recover slack line rapidly with a quick slap of the spool. Paired with a large arbor, narrow spool, and a suite of purpose-driven details, the Averon Streamer was built to bring greater control, cleaner line management, and more confidence to one of fly fishing’s most demanding styles.

The extra-large arbor increases retrieval rate and helps reduce line coils and memory, while the narrow spool helps minimise line stacking issues and supports cleaner, more consistent line lay. Finished in a durable bead-blasted matte black anodisation, it is a reel refined in every detail.
