Howard Qualifies For 2015 Rivers Home International

Hardy Brand Manager Howard Croston has been awarded second place in the 2014 English National Rivers Final qualifying for the 2015 England Rivers Team.

The competition which was held on the Welsh Dee on the 28th and 29th July saw the country's top 32 river anglers fish a two day National Final over four sessions. The top five anglers will now go on to make up the 2015 England Rivers Team along with Lewis Hendrie in 6th place as reserve.

Howard Croston said;

"The fishing on the Dee this year was superb with all four beats producing in the region of 100 fish plus across the event. My approach involved concentrating on a small area of river similar to fishing a 'pegged' match rather than covering large areas of water. Tactics ranged from trio to double nymph and in the later stages of the session double dry. I also took the chance to test several new items currently in development from the Hardy range including new 9ft #4 and 10ft #4 rods and a new large arbor reel.

"I was particularly pleased with the result considering I only managed one hour of practice in front of the match hotel the day before the event. Congratulations to all the qualifiers and to the new National Champion Mike Heritage."
